Other things we love too

We live in St Albans and know that that there are local people who would love to have something local in their home or as a memento of a visit 

We often go to The Charente in South West France and enjoy visiting vide greniers (literally empty your barns).  We hope to find the odd gem to bring back!

Visiting auctions I have come to realise that there are some great illustrations that have been lost from the light of day and that deserve to be returned to light.  

We keep coming across bits and pieces that have made their way east across the Atlantic Ocean.  Silver  made by Elgin and Gorham and pottery such Abbot's, made for B Altman's department store in NY City.  

We have always enjoyed maps, whether Ordnance Survey, road maps and many others.  Reminders of the days before Google and sat navs. This category also lets us cross over into other categories too.

Tea caddies, writing slopes, pretty little things and well... anything else we love and think you might too!  This is an unapologetic area where you might find anything from bits of jewellery and miniature paintings to a grandfather clock!
